2027 Call for Nominations

Deadline: October 15, 2026

Open Position for the 2027-2028 cycle include:

• Second Vice-President
• Treasurer-Elect
• Member of the Membership Committee

Submission Instructions

• Nominations must be submitted to: [email protected].
• The subject line should include: “ABJS Nomination – nominee’s name”
• Inquiries should be addressed to: ABJS Nominating Committee Chair, 1515 E. Woodfield Rd.,
           Suite 345, Schaumburg, IL 60173.
• Eligible candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by an ABJS member.
• If nominating another member, the nominee must be copied on the email submission and have confirmed their willingness to serve.
• Submissions should include:
• The selected position(s).
• A statement of interest and any applicable qualifications (maximum 200 words).
• Bulleted summary of any prior ABJS participation and service, if applicable.

 Eligibility

• Any ABJS member who meets the membership category requirements for the applicable position (see position descriptions on the ABJS Board and Committee Descriptions page).
• Members of the ABJS Nominating Committee may not be considered for election.

Selection Process

• Nominations will be reviewed by the ABJS Nominating Committee in late Fall or early Winter.
• Nominees will be notified of the Committee’s decision, and the final slate of candidates will be presented to the membership for a vote at the Final Business Meeting of the next ABJS Annual Meeting. 

Additionally, if you would like to be considered for any committees that are nominated from the floor or appointed (not reviewed by the Nominating Committee), please submit your name for those as well, and your interest will be shared with leadership. Those include the Awards, Program, and Nominating Committees.
